On April 22, 1918, Charles Lester Logan departed from Newport News, Virginia aboard the USS Siboney with his 60th Artillery Coast Artillery Corps. While serving with the 60th Artillery C.A.C. in Europe, Logan participated in the St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne offensives.
After World War 1, he moved to Big Rock, Virginia with his wife, Mary Cummings Logan, and worked for the Buchanan County Coal Corporation.
At the age of 51, Charles Lester Logan enlisted for service in World War 2 in 1942.
