About
VPI in World War I is a digital project and database which began in 2017 dedicated to researching and documenting the lives of Virginia Tech's World War I veterans. Between 1917 and 1919 over 1,000 Virginia Tech (then known as Virginia Polytechnic Institute, or VPI) students, alumni, and faculty served in the First World War. Through exploring the lives of VPI's World War I veterans we can not only gain a deeper understanding of the war, but also how the war affected the lives of people around the world.
