He met his future wife while attending Virginia Tech and was married in Washington D.C with her. He then spent time in DeSoto, Mississippi before returning to Virginia Tech to work on the faculty, and have his son. He then spent most the rest of his life in Shenandoah as a Cattle/Dairy farmer where he wrote a book on proper feeding techniques for increased profits.
