            <text>Harry Preston Humphries, born to William Evans Humphries and Bessie Humphries on October 13, 1896, in Clifton Forge, Virginia, enlisted  on January 2, 1918 as a Private in the infantry of the National Army. Following training at Camp Lee in Virginia and Camp Lewis in Washington, during which time he was promoted from officer candidate to 2nd Lieutenant, Humphries departed from San Francisco California on February 25, 1919, arriving in Vladivostok, Siberia on March 28, 1919, where he served until March 30, 1920. While in Siberia, Humphries served in military events such as Maihe, on May 22, 1919, Krolevets, on May 25, 1919, Sitsa, on June 26, 1919, Kazanka, on July 3, 1919, and Suchan Valley, Vladmir Alexandrofskoye, on July 5, 1919. Following the war, Humphries returned home via Fort McKinley in the Philippines. Following work as an electrical engineer, Humphries was a resident of St Lone, Missouri in 1935, and resident of Phoenix, Maricopa, Arizona in 1940, working as a salesman. Humphries passed away on December 6, 1967, and was buried in his hometown in Clifton Forge, Virginia.&#13;
