Military Events
According to the 1923 VPI bugle Day piloted a burning aeroplane for a 1500 foot descent before he was forced to give up and crash to earth. He apparently only suffered a broken ankle, four broken rips, a broken nose, and numerous lacerations to the face and body. Returned to US from France on the Texan on 16 April 1916.
