This man was in VPI class of 1909. Apparently he only spent a year at VPI. He died in WW 1 on Nov 6, 1918 and is buried in France. I want to tie him to his family.

Besides the Find A Grave note and your listing, I am unable to locate him on Ancestry or FamilySearch using the name Harvey Clay Williams or Henry Clay Williams, or Harry Clay Williams, or Harry C. Williams. It is almost impossible without an exact DOB or place or a parent’s name, especially with a common surname like Williams. I tried Roanoke but came up blank. If he was a lawyer, that might be a clue but I haven't followed it. If VPI has records that far back, they should know his family’s name and address. He deserves to be known. Is this the sort of thing you hope to do with your blog?  Although he was called Harry, the full info on him indicates his correct first name was Harvey. But he apparently died as Harry C. He looks like a nice person. See http://www.vpiworldwarone.lib.vt.edu/items/show/348 See "Find A Grave Index," database, FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QVKT-S733 : 10 June 2021), Harry C. Williams, ; Burial, Fere-en-Tardenois, Departement de l'Aisne, Picardie, France, Oise-Aisne American Cemetery and Memorial; citing record ID 56641143, Find a Grave, http://www.findagrave.com.   He is not one of “my” Williamses, but if you do find him, please let me know.    Barbara Buckman Williams POI Box 129 Sautee Nacoochee GA 30571 706 809-2977
