Military Events

Alfred Harvey was killed while he was on patrol during the Ypres-Lys Allied offensive in August that pushed the German front back to the Lys river. Following their defeat at Ypres, the Germans were forced back again and again until an Armistice was signed on November 11, 1918.

Additional Notes

"Tub" was said to have been a very upright and kind gentleman to those who knew him. Two of his brothers also served in World War 1. Alfred Harvey is buried in the Flanders Field American Cemetery and Memorial in Belgium. His specific grave is in Plot B, along Row 1, number 16.
