Philip Rollins Fowle was born June 1, 1896 in Spokane County, WA. Fowle served in the United States Army Ambulance Service with the French Army during World War I. Philip Fowle is listed on two transport services that document his departure from France where the later date is May 23, 1919. Fowle married Helen Bache Kimmell Fowle on July 19, 1919, and had his first child, Harry Kimmell Fowle, in 1921. In 1923, the Fowle’s second child Phyllis Rollins Fowle was born. Philip Fowle appears as a lawyer in the 1930 Federal Census and lived in Winchester, Virginia, and the 1940 Federal Census documents Philip as a business owner. In 1942, Fowle completed the World War II Draft Registration Card. Fowle became widowed on September 21, 1953, when his wife, Helen, died from Cerebral Hemorrhage. Philip Fowle remarried on December 22, 1955 to Marietta C. Credle Mann, and he became the step-father to Evelynn Kimbrell, and Marietta Man. On February 18, 1958, Philip Fowle died at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Richmond from Lobar Pneumonia which developed within five days due to Abdominal Aorta Thrombus and Arteriosclerosis.
